Our THIRD annual Family Fun Day! An event entirely dedicated to entertaining and educating our children!
This annual fun day out is to celebrate all the pollinators as well as the host plants that feed them and encourage their continued success. This all-day (come and go as you please) event is designed to be enjoyed by all ages offering fun activities and learning opportunities, as well as the chance to meet with various experts and local community nature enthusiasts, and some vendors too. As we develop the schedule, we will announce updates on our Facebook page and on this event page.
2023 ACTIVITIES
- Face Painting provided by Macon Faces.
- Live Music by Rachel Bellavance.
- Taqueria El Machete Food Truck will be here!
- Visit the Spriggly’s Beescaping booth to learn all about Native Bees and other cool Pollinators.
- Try Mary Martin Meals‘ locally made Ice pops–naturally sweetened with fruits, assorted flavors. Magical!
- Not ONLY 2 free specially sourced bee books for every child, but also a range of other free books, all arranged by the good folks at Read2Me
- Make your own seed bomb with Bigelow’s Botanical Excursions
- Story telling time – with the Macon County Public Library, Spriggly’s Beescaping, and Adam Bigelow
- Make a Bee Hotel with Mainspring Conservation Trust
- Make your own butterfly to take home with our local favorite gift store in Franklin: Trail Mix.
- Live honey Bee hive demo (get up close and see them in their case!) – thanks to Larry at River Birch Bees
- Coloring-in activities and take-home sheets with Wild Ones WNC
