Presented by John Kotab, Author of Bee The Change: If We Protect, Nature Will Provide
Let’s learn about the 500+ types of native bees in western NC, discuss their critical role in our eco-system, and make a complete bee hotel for our pollinator friends!
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn to build bee habitats using two distinct methods, and take home a completed bee hotel that we’ll make in class together. You’ll learn the lifecycle of native bees, their interaction with hollow and pithy-stemmed perennials, and the plants they rely on for survival.
This workshop is ideal for gardeners, conservationists, and wildlife enthusiasts. Come polish your practical skills to support native bee populations, and enhance your garden’s biodiversity.
You’ll leave with:
- One completed native bee hotel (including blueprints)
- Seed packet that contains thousands of seeds to grow a bee garden
- Multiple links of workshop-cited information on native bees
- Knowledge on how to clean the hotel
