Campground Manager’s Assistant

  • April-November
  • 12-20 Hours a week
  • $16–$18/hour (based on experience)

Job Description: We are seeking a friendly, hardworking individual to join our team and assist the Campground Manager with cleaning and setting up. The ideal applicant will enjoy working outdoors and is passionate about providing exceptional service to our guests. This role includes assisting the manager in campground operations, ensuring the safety and comfort of visitors, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning Bathhouses: Regularly clean, sanitize and restock all bathhouse facilities, including toilets, sinks, showers, and floors to ensure a high standard of hygiene.
  • Cleaning Communal Areas: Sweep, mop, and sanitize the camp store and other communal spaces to maintain cleanliness and order.
  • Site Maintenance: Clean and prepare campsites by picking up litter, ensuring picnic tables, fire-pits and chairs are clean, and tidying up the area for incoming guests.
  • Fire-Pit Maintenance: Empty and clean fire-pits at campsites and communal areas; ensure they are free of debris and ready for use by campers.
  • Glamping Site Assistance: Help with the setup and cleaning of glamping sites, including changing linens, cleaning surfaces, and preparing each site for new guests.
  • Bundling Firewood: Bundle and organize firewood, ensuring it is neatly stored and available to restock the camp store.
  • Events: Assist in setting up the campground for full rentals/events and assist with on-site events.
  • Livestock: Assist Livestock Manager with health checks as needed. Animal experience not required.
  • Customer Service: Assist guests with general inquiries, provide information about campground amenities, and ensure that they have a positive camping experience.
  • General Maintenance: Report any facility maintenance issues or safety concerns to management for prompt resolution.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all campground rules and safety procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of guests and staff.

Extra Non-Weekly Hours Available: 3B/2.5b Short-term rental house cleaning. (4-5 hours)

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Cleaning: Perform thorough cleaning of rental homes, including but not limited to dusting, vacuuming, mopping floors, and cleaning windows and surfaces when supplies need to be replenished.
  • Kitchen Cleaning: Clean kitchen appliances (stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher), counters, and sinks. Ensure all dishes, cookware, and utensils are cleaned and put away.
  • Bathroom Cleaning: Sanitize and disinfect bathrooms, including toilets, showers/tubs, sinks, mirrors, and floors. Restock bathroom amenities such as toilet paper, soap, and towels.
  • Bedroom Preparation: Change bed linens, make beds, and ensure all furniture is tidy.
  • Common Area Cleaning: Tidy up living spaces, dust furniture, and clean any electronics, including TVs and remote controls. Ensure all light fixtures and fans are in working order.
  • Laundry: Collect sheets and towels to be taken to the Cleaners.
  • Restocking Supplies: Check and replenish supplies such as toiletries, cleaning products, and kitchen items (coffee, tea, etc.) to ensure the home is fully stocked for the next guest.
  • Inventory Management: Keep track of inventory (towels, bedding, cleaning supplies, etc.) and notify management

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in housekeeping, or a similar role is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team and take initiative in completing tasks.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry firewood, cleaning supplies, and other equipment (up to 45 lbs).
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Good communication skills and a friendly, customer-oriented attitude.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work events as needed (4-5 a year).
